Youth Ambassadors: Building Bridges through Experiential Learning
In a world where integration, empathy, and mutual understanding are needed more than ever, IYC Suomi, with Hi European Youth (Hey!, Spain) and Situational Cooperation Open Doors (SCOD, Bulgaria), is proud to introduce the Youth Ambassadors project. It is designed to foster meaningful connections between young migrants, refugees, marginalized groups, and local youth through experiential learning and structured mentorship.
What is the Youth Ambassadors Project?
The Youth Ambassadors project is a 24-month initiative focused on creating interactive and inclusive spaces where local youth and young migrants can connect, learn, and advocate for each other. Through structured activities, mentorship, and structured advocacy development, the program empowers youth to be the leaders of inclusion and change in their communities.
Our Goals:
Facilitating Experiential Learning – Creating meaningful interactions between young migrants and local youth to break down barriers and build lasting relationships.
Developing Structured Guidance & Advocacy – Equipping youth with the tools to become advocates for inclusivity through mentorship and community engagement.
Establishing Inclusive Spaces – Providing youth organizations with the necessary frameworks to ensure sustainable interaction and integration between native and migrant youth.
Key Activities:
Needs Assessment & Preparation of Experiential Learning: this phase focuses on understanding integration challenges and developing an experiential learning curriculum.
Experiential Learning & Mobility: this phase brings together local youth and young refugees for immersive experiences, engaging in discussions and activities on cultural exchange and social inclusion.
The Youth Ambassadors’ Guide: this phase involves creating a comprehensive guide for youth organizations to develop inclusion and mentorship. The key outcome will be the “Youth Ambassadors’ Guide,” a practical resource on mentoring, intercultural communication, and advocacy.
