At IYC Finland, we believe the holidays are all about coming together, helping out, and sharing good vibes. This year, we teamed up once again with Amigos de Huancavelica and Mi Pequeña Familia to raise funds for kids in Huancavelica, Peru and MIPEFAM-orphanage in Mexico City.
Our “Share your Christmas” campaign brought together volunteers from the European Solidarity Corps, local collaborators, supporters from around Helsinki, and About 20 awesome volunteers rolled up their sleeves to organize, craft, perform, and cook for the event. We pulled off a charity gala, complete with delicious Peruvian and Mexican dishes, a craft market, a musical recital, and plenty of family-friendly activities like workshops and games.
We were honored to welcome special guests, including Gonzalo Quinde, Secretary of the Embassy of Peru in Finland, and Mario Alberto Cuevas Rocha, Consul of Mexico in Finland.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity and hard work, “Share your Christmas 2024″ was a huge success! All the funds raised went directly to support the Mexican orphanage “Mi Pequeña Familia” and the “La Providencia” community kitchen through ONGD Huanca.
We’re so grateful for your help in bringing holiday cheer to children in Huancavelica and Mexico City—together, we’re making the season brighter for everyone!
